About LegacyRank
A valuation service for collectible video games. We help owners find out what their sealed or graded games are actually worth, based on real sales rather than wishful listings.
Who we are
- LegacyRank is a small independent service built by a collector for collectors. It is based in Russia and is currently in closed beta.
- We focus on sealed and graded video games, with PlayStation titles (PS1 to PS5, PSP, Vita) as our core, plus GameCube, Xbox and retro platforms.
What we do
- A collector photographs a game box. We identify the exact edition by title, platform, region and catalogue number, and estimate its market value.
- Valuations rely on real completed sales, not asking prices. An unsold listing says what a seller hopes for; a closed sale says what the market paid.
- When data is missing we say so openly instead of guessing. A confident wrong price costs a collector real money, while an honest "not enough data" costs nothing.
How we treat data sources
- Every external source is accessed at one steady, slow pace, with pauses between requests. We never use parallel or burst downloads.
- We count daily request limits on our own side and stop on our own, rather than waiting to hit a provider’s limit.
- We never use proxies, rotating addresses or any other way around access protection. If a site restricts automated access, we ask for permission or leave it alone.
- At the first sign of strain, such as captchas, refusals or slower responses, we stop for the day.
- We store only factual sale records: title, platform, grade, price, date and a link to the original listing. We do not copy descriptions, photos or any personal data about buyers and sellers.
Attribution
- Every price shown to a collector carries its source and, where possible, a link back to the original listing.
- We do not resell or republish source datasets in raw form.
